Q1. What kind of services are provided to corporate customers by Fubon GO?

You may open Fubon Corporate or Credit Card Merchant Account via Fubon GO with your mobile devices anytime.

Q2. Are there any requirements for the mobile devices in order to use Fubon GO?

The operating system requirements of your mobile devices* are:
  • iOS 11.0 or above; or
  • Android 8.0 or above.

Also, your mobile devices* need to be equipped with the following features in order to use Fubon GO:
  • front and back-facing cameras, and
  • Apple Store (for iOS devices)/Google Play (for Android devices), and
  • a gyroscope (for the level and angle detection in order to capture your HKID card).

*Mobile devices do not include tablets and designated mobile models (e.g. Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium, Xiaomi Mi10, etc.)

Q3. How can I download Fubon GO?

Please visit the official application stores - Apple Store / Google Play to search and download “Fubon GO”. Do not download any unknown applications from an unknown source or website.

Q4. What languages are Fubon GO available in?

Fubon GO is currently available in English and Traditional Chinese.

Q5.If I am not in Hong Kong, can I use Fubon GO to open a Fubon Corporate or Credit Card Merchant Account?

Currently, only corporate customers located in Hong Kong are eligible to use Fubon GO to open a Fubon Corporate or Credit Card Merchant Account.

Q6. Which type of entities are eligible to apply for Fubon Corporate or Credit Card Merchant Account via Fubon GO?

Sole proprietors, partnerships and single layer limited companies are eligible to apply for Fubon Corporate or Credit Card Merchant Account via Fubon GO, as long as they satisfy the application requirements.

Q7. What type of merchants are eligible to apply for a Fubon Credit Card Merchant Account via Fubon GO?

Any retail shops with prepayment services or non-prepayment services are eligible to apply for a Fubon Credit Card Merchant Account via Fubon GO.

Q8. What are “prepayment services”?

“Prepayment services” refer to stored value coupons, service package, annual membership fee, and goods and services that are delivered 30 days after the point of sale.

Q9. What is the maximum number of partners/directors/shareholders that can be filled in a Fubon GO application?

A maximum of 4 partners/directors/shareholders can be filled in a Fubon GO application.

Q10. What is the maximum number of outlets that can be filled in a Fubon Credit Card Merchant Account application via Fubon GO?

A maximum of 10 outlets can be filled in a Fubon Credit Card Merchant Account application via Fubon GO.

Q11. After applying for a Fubon Corporate Account via Fubon GO, do I still need to visit a Fubon branch for a face-to-face meeting?

From filling in corporate account information, submitting documents, to setting up online banking and identity verification, all these processes can be completed via Fubon GO. In special cases, you may be contacted and requested to provide additional documents or attend a face-to-face meeting in our branches.

Q12. Can I apply for a cheque book in my Fubon Corporate Account application via Fubon GO?

Yes.

Q13. Can I set up internet banking in my Fubon Corporate Account application via Fubon GO?

Yes.

Q14. What kind of Fubon Corporate Account can I apply for via Fubon GO?

You can open Fubon magi©money manager HKD Interest-bearing Current Account via Fubon GO.

Q15. Can I only apply for a Fubon Credit Card Merchant Account via Fubon GO?

Yes.

Q16. What documents are required to be uploaded for a Fubon Corporate Account application via Fubon GO?

In general, only valid Business Registration and valid Certificate of Incorporation (if applicable) copies are required. We may ask for more documents from you if needed.

Q17. What documents are required to be uploaded for a Fubon Credit Card Merchant Account application via Fubon GO?

In general, valid Business Registration and valid Certificate of Incorporation (if applicable) copies are required to be uploaded. Merchants with “prepayment services” are also required to upload leasing agreement(s), price list(s), bank account statement(s) (if applicable), merchant statement(s) (if applicable) and shop photos. Additional documents may also be requested throughout the application if needed.

Q18. If I cannot provide all the information on a one-off basis, will Fubon GO help me saving the filled in information?

When you proceed with your application, you will be requested to create a 6-digit passcode. Please use this passcode, your registered mobile phone number and the reference number to resume your application.

Q19. Is the 6-digit passcode only used to resume my application?

No. The owner/partners/directors/shareholders need to use the 6-digit passcode with their registered mobile phone numbers and the reference number to proceed with identity verification and authorization.

Q20. Will the Bank keep my HKID card information and selfie during account opening process?

When using Fubon GO to open an account, all personal information you have provided (including but not limited to HKID card and selfies images) will be used and retained in accordance with the relevant terms and conditions set out in the Bank’s "Notice to Customers and Other Individuals relating to the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance and Consumer Credit Data", which is available in our website.

Q21. Why can’t I successfully capture my HKID card and take selfies during identity verification?

A range of factors may affect the accuracy of identity verification, including but not limited to the environment in which your HKID card and/or selfies are taken (e.g. glare), scratches and/or damages on your HKID card, etc. While capturing your HKID card and taking selfies, please follow the instructions on Fubon GO and ensure you are in a well-lit environment. In addition, please ensure the HKID card is placed on a flat and white surface, and avoid any part of the HKID card and information being blocked by light reflection and/or shadow.

Q22. Why can’t my mobile phone receive the SMS with One Time Password (OTP)?

You are required to provide a Hong Kong mobile phone number in order to receive the OTP SMS. Please check if the mobile phone number you have inputted in Fubon GO is correct, your internet connection is well-connected and SMS forwarding service is disabled. If you have entered a correct mobile phone number but still cannot receive the OTP SMS, please press "Resend" to get another OTP SMS. Our SMS will only be sent to the mobile phone number you have inputted in Fubon GO. Even if you have registered for SMS forwarding service, the SMS will not be sent to another mobile phone number.

Q23. How does Fubon GO ensure data security?

All the information you have provided, including HKID photos, selfies, personal data, usernames and passwords, will be encrypted by us in order to protect the privacy of the applicant and the owner/partners/directors/shareholders.
